Applications are currently being accepted for two (2) full-time (35-hours/week) temporary (2-year project) Marketing Specialists in the Agency’s Apprenticeship Program.

 

Job Purpose:

The Marketing Specialists will work in the Agency’s temporary (2-year project) Apprenticeship Program, which provides financial incentives and supports to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the Greater Toronto Area to hire first year apprentices in 1 or more of the 39 construction and manufacturing Red Seal trades, with a focus on equity-deserving groups. Marketing Specialists are an integral part of the development and execution of the Program’s marketing plans to reach targets and monitor marketing programs across a variety of channels and includes researching the market, analyzing trends to help define Program’s marketing strategy, and providing recommendations as to how to best reach the target market. The successful candidates will be competent professionals who are able to generate creative ideas, and will be well-versed in specialized marketing concepts, principles and tactics. The goal is to deliver effective marketing programs that will help grow the Agency’s Apprenticeship Program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research to find answers about consumer requirements, habits and trends
  • Brainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns
  • Assist in outbound or inbound marketing activities by demonstrating expertise in various areas (content development and optimization, advertising, events planning etc.)
  • Liaise with external vendors to execute promotional events and campaigns
  • Collaborate with marketing and other professionals to coordinate brand awareness and marketing efforts
  • Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, e-mail, TV/radio etc.)
  • Assist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies
  • Undertake individual tasks of a marketing plan, as assigned
  • Coordination of events, such as trade shows or conferences
  • Perform other duties as assigned, for Team or Agency

Key Qualifications:

  • University degree in marketing, communications or equivalent
  • Proven experience as Marketing Specialist or similar role
  • Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/Social media etc.) and market research methods
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing data analytics and tools
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite and CRM) and applications (Web analytics, Google Adwords etc.)
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and web development tools (e.g. Dreamweaver)
  • Excellent networking, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Well-organized and detail oriented
  • Superior written and verbal command of the English language
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a creative mind
  • Proven ability to work in changing environment, multi-tasking ability and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as work collaboratively and effectively with all team members
  • As there may be a remote component to this job, the ability to work from home consisting of a safe and private home office setting and the necessary technical equipment and high-speed Internet access for remote work
  • Familiarity with virtual work platforms
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s license with daily access to a reliable vehicle
  • Additional language(s) an asset
  • Flexibility to work from a variety of locations
  • Ability to work days/evenings/week-ends
