Osgoode Care Centre (OCC) is a 100-bed non-profit long-term care home in Metcalf, Ontario. We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial operations, accounting, and compliance activities of our home. The CFO reports to the President & CEO and provides them and the Board of Directors with financial information and advice to support their strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial reports, analysis and advice to the President & CEO, and Board of Directors to support their strategic decision-making with respect to infrastructure planning, financing options, investments, compliance and other financial matters
- Ensure OCC’s financial policies and procedures are compliant, and the integrity of our accounting systems and internal controls are maintained
- Prepare budgets (including annual budgets and budget forecasts) and financial KPIs; monitor and make recommendations to meet targets
- Prepare monthly financial reports including comprehensive financial results and analysis
- Perform monthly billing and reconciliation of resident accommodation and trust accounts
- Prepare year-end financial statements; act as the primary liaison for external auditors
- Lead the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of OCC including accounts payable and receivables, banking and cash flow
- Provide timely and accurate reports to government regulators, agencies and other external parties.
Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting, Business or related discipline (preferred)
- Accounting designation e.g., CA, CPA (preferred)
- Minimum of five years not-for-profit experience (preferred)
- Able to operate at both the strategic and tactical level
- Highly ethical with sound business judgment
- Superb interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with senior leadership, Board of Directors, external partners and colleagues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong time management skills to meet critical deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Genuine interest in not-for-profit long-term care and the welfare of vulnerable seniors
