Job Summary:

The Group Facilitator prepares for and facilitates group parenting sessions using a mix of both in-person and online sessions. Group sessions explore parenting and assist clients in developing skills in a variety of areas. The Group Facilitator conducts in-home visits to further engage parents in the program, including gathering expected outcomes, and responding to any concerns. This position works collaboratively with a team using a non-adversarial, non-confrontational, cooperative approach to completing tasks. 

Your Role:

Archway’s Group Facilitator with the Family Education Program contributes by:

  • Facilitating both in-person and online group sessions according to Family Education Program curriculum.
  • Arranging for session space and preparing materials for group sessions.
  • Coaching clients on developing and using appropriate parenting skills.
  • Maintaining the referral and intake processes.
  • Preparing reports.
  • Connecting clients with resources in the community.
  • Curriculum building.
  • Obtaining client feedback after each group session and bringing forward any concerns to the Supervisor.

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys facilitating groups, is a good coach, understands family dynamics, early childhood development, and healthy parenting styles.

Getting an Interview – you will be considered if you have:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Social Services, Communications, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, Adult Education, Education, or a related field.
  • 2 years’ experience in group or family work.
  • 2 years’ experience providing in-person and online group facilitation.
  • Experience using online platforms, particularly Microsoft Teams or Cisco WebEx, to facilitate online groups.
  • Knowledge of coaching, conflict resolution, and behavioural modelling skills.

The Job Requires you to have:

  • Valid Class 4 BC Driver’s License, with a satisfactory driver’s record.
  • Emergency First Aid certificate with CPR level C is a condition of employment.
  • A satisfactory criminal records check is a condition of employment.
  • Availability to work during the day and some evenings.
  • Possible use of a personal vehicle may be required.
