Role Summary

In the position of Marketing Specialist, Volunteer Recruitment you will report to the Expansion Specialist of Shelter Movers Greater Moncton. As a Marketing Specialist, Volunteer Recruitment, you will be responsible for the following tasks and services:

 

Responsibilities

  • Research viable ad placements options, create content and coordinate with journalists for editing ad placement
  • Promote recruitment through several communication means (e.g. email, phone,social media)
  • Provide recruitment material to local organizations that can be promoted on their platforms and social channels
  • Identify general volunteering platforms, create content for posts and engage with potential volunteers
  • Attend recruitment fairs, accompanied by the Expansion Specialist, fundraising and other community events on behalf of Shelter Movers to further volunteer recruitment
  • Determine the most appropriate method of volunteer recruitment for the desired applicant
  • Suggest and implement new features to increase brand awareness, engagement, traffic to website, Facebook page, etc. 
  • Liaise with other teams (Fund Development, Volunteer Services, Operations) to collaborate on content development
  • Reach out to local non-profit organizations and evaluate best practices for volunteer recruitment.
  • Create a report at the end of the work period which would be used to replicate the successful aspects of marketing for volunteer recruitment strategies for future chapter development, especially in Atlantic Canada.



Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Experience creating digital marketing assets
  • The ability to maintain a voice that is supportive, approachable, trauma-informed, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, client-centred, LGBTQI+ inclusive and accurate in all areas of communication
  • Knowledge of digital and social media marketing as well as the ability to learn new tools and trends
  • Innovation and creativity are highly valued in this position, as well as the ability to work in a virtual space 
  • Dynamic, outgoing personality with sound judgment and the ability to use discretion
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, MailChimp, Canva, CanadaHelps, Zoom and donor management software is a plus
  • Strong ethics and strives for integrity and excellence in all areas of responsibility
  • Strong organizational skills and reliable work habits
  • French Speaking ability is an asset

 

Role Details:

  • 35 hours/week
  • Flexible work schedule and hours
  • Some evening and weekend availability as needed
  • Remote position
  • Hourly rate: $21
  • 9-week contract
  • Part of the Canada Summer Jobs 2022 program, must be between 18-30 years of age
