Job Summary:

The Employment Outreach Worker is responsible for marketing, promoting and recruiting participants to the STRIDE for Older Workers Program.  The Employment Outreach Worker will connect with the community and seek employment opportunities and placements for program participants. 

Your Role:

Archway’s Employment Outreach Worker with the STRIDE for Older Workers Program contributes by:

• Promoting and marketing the STRIDE for Older Workers Program in the community using knowledge of the BC Labour Market.
• Liaising with external employers and recruiters to develop a list of available/prospective jobs for job matching purposes.
• Establishing a network of community employers able to hire participants for on-the job training/ work experience, volunteer opportunities or Wage Subsidy program.
• Assisting STRIDE Participants with applications for suitable jobs, and working with the Employment Facilitator to develop an effective cover letter and resume.
• Monitoring and supporting participants during work experience training, volunteer placement, or Wage Subsidy
• Coordinating and scheduling employer partner activities such as guest speakers on hiring practices, labour market information, mock interviews and job hiring events.

This position is a great fit for someone who has good marketing and networking skills, and knows the current BC Labour Market trends.

• Wage: $26.00 per hour.
• Full time: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Getting an Interview – you will be considered if you have:

• Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 year recent experience and skills in networking and marketing.
• 1 year employment related experience.

The Job Requires you to have:

• A satisfactory criminal records check is a condition of employment
• A valid Class 5 Driver’s License, with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract, is a condition of employment.
• A reliable vehicle.
