Organization Overview:

KPP manages four social housing sites in the City of Peterborough with apartments and townhomes totalling 265 units for low income families, seniors and singles. KPP specializes in housing and supports for people with physical disabilities.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Working as part of a larger team, the Student Maintenance Assistant will be responsible for the following job tasks

• Assisting in unit turnovers (painting, dry walling, basic carpentry)
• Grounds Maintenance (lawn cutting & trimming, gardening);
• Completion of tenant work orders using a mobile app;
• Assisting in weekly and monthly systems checks and inspections (fire safety, emergency systems, etc.)
• Janitorial duties

Knowledge & experience:   

Some knowledge and experience in the following areas would be beneficial but we are willing to train the right candidate:

• customer service
• Practical problem solving skills
• Time management
• Effective interpersonal skills;
• janitorial experience
• basic carpentry/repair skills
• Proficiency in Office 365
• Sensitivity to the needs of people with physical disabilities and other social barriers
• good communication skills
• experience in painting and drywall
• mechanical aptitude
• experience in gardening and lawn care

This is a CSJ funded position. To be eligible you must be between 15 and 30 and be legally entitled to work in Canada. International students are not eligible. Indigenous youth is encouraged to apply.
