The Francis Winspear Centre for Music is seeking a dynamic individual to become our next Event & Stewardship Coordinator. We are looking for an employee that is excited to be part of our music-centered, community-driven organization for this permanent full-time position.

The Winspear Centre is home to the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (ESO) and the Tommy Banks Centre for Musical Creativity, and is the venue of choice for local community groups and touring artists. Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director or VP of Philanthropy, the Event & Stewardship Coordinator would be responsible for a multi-faceted role in implementing FWCM | ESO stewardship strategies; generating financial support to advance the purpose of our organization. You will be supporting the stewardship journey with our patrons, and assisting marketing efforts, including fundraising events and campaigns, as well as acting on the needs of our donors and supporters.

This is a full time position working at home and at the Winspear Centre and requires the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to attend regular events at The Winspear and become immersed in our musical culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embody the FWCM | ESO core values, vision, and mission
  • Develop and implement the patron stewardship strategy to support our organization
  • Communicate and act on the needs of our patrons and donors, enhancing their stewardship journey and experiences, ensuring they have an elevated connection to the FWCM | ESO
  • Plan and execute stewardship activities including fundraising events; donor and subscriber appreciation activities, phone campaigns, and marketing efforts such as newsletters, cards, and gratitude reports
  • Participate in planning and execution of stewardship and fundraising activities for the Winspear Project Capital Campaign
  • Observes the FWCM | ESO brand and communication standards for campaign marketing and communication materials
  • Support the Philanthropy team and adhere to the direction of the VP or Director of Philanthropy, and the President and CEO of the FWCM | ESO
  • Manage all documentation and data that is relevant to the strategy
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Experience in event planning, fundraising, project management, or marketing
  • College or University diploma/degree. Preference will be given to candidates with education in Event Planning, Business, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Non-for-Profit Management
  • Experience working in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Knowledge of computerized information systems and their applications, including OPAS software (Tessitura is an asset), Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Office
  • Must be able to reliably commute and work out of The Francis Winspear Centre for Music (FWCM) the acoustic concert hall and multi-use facility located in downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and be highly organized
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to build authentic supportive relationships, and possess extraordinary communication with all staff, volunteers, patrons, donors, and the public in a professional, confidential, timely, and tactful manner
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, exercise good judgment
  • Take initiative and be a creative problem solver
  • Effective team contributor and collaborator
