The Program – Connects

The program is one of Enviros that offers group care to children aged 6 – 13. The daily program consists of using any combination of the following therapeutic tools to help children and their families achieve their goals; life skills, theraplay, treatment sessions, family counselling, wilderness programming and the development of a family plan.

The Position – Child and Family Support Worker

The Child and Family Support Worker in our Connects program will be required to deliver programming in a therapeutic environment for up to four children impacted by trauma and their families.  In addition, the regular care of children in a residential care setting is also a part of the job expectations.  

This role is a full time fixed four months contract starting June until October 2022.

For Consideration Applicants Will Need to Demonstrate the Following Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Human, Social Services or Recreation
• Experience with experiential learning, strength-based practice and working with children and families
• Wilderness programming experience is an asset
• A current Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector (completed within last 6 months).
• A current Alberta Intervention Record check (completed within last 6 months).
• Valid First Aid and CPR/AED ‘C’ Level
• 5-year drivers abstract with no major violations (such as a DUI or Distracted Driving charge)
• Suicide Prevention Training, Indigenous Awareness Training, Diversity Training and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training would be an asset and must be completed within 6 months of
