You are committed to working with women who are struggling with substance use and or mental wellness and understand and are comfortable working within a harm reduction environment. Your definition of woman includes transgender, two spirit and intersex women, and transfeminine individuals. You support sex worker rights. You have significant experience as a front-line support worker working with women and children affected by violence/abuse and have worked in a role supervising and supporting front-line support workers. You also have a degree, diploma or certificate in a relevant discipline. Lived expertise is an asset, as is living in the community in which you work. About the Job:
Reporting to the Director of Transitional Housing, the Program Manager at Sereena’s will supervise and support front line staff as well as ensure effective program/service delivery consistent with Atira’s mission, vision. values, philosophy and mandate, as well as our legal, contractual, budgetary, regulatory and other requirements; and develop long-range program plans that meet Atira’s goals and objectives. Sereena’s is a supportive housing program for women. The goal of the Program is to provide a supportive environment in which women are assisted in their efforts to live independently of violence, abuse, and substance use, to access community services and to become involved in their community.
You Have/Will be Required to Have:
· A minimum of five years of Managing experience in the Women’s sector or related field
· Lived expertise will be considered
· Master’s Degree in Social Work or Master’s Degree in a relevant field is preferred. Relevant undergrad degree with experience will be considered.
· NVCI Certification is required
· First Aid certification is required
· All positions are subject to a criminal records review
· Covid-19 & annual Flu vaccinations are required, unless with valid exemption
· A valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle while on shift is required
