English Language Instructor for Customer Service Skills in Hospitality                                             


Richmond Multicultural Community Services (RMCS) is a non-profit organization committed to serving diverse communities of Richmond over 38 years. We do this by providing services for newcomers as well as multiculturalism and diversity work. RMCS invites application for the following position:

English Language Instructor for Customer Service Skills in Hospitality (Part Time 6 hours a week):

 This position requires the instructor to teach students about Customer Service Skills in Hospitality Settings using a systematic plan of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups and independent or group projects.

Job Responsibilities:

The English Language Instructor for Customer Service Skills in Hospitality will:

  • Teach students using a systematic plan with clear learning objectives
  • Prepare materials for presentation to students as required, in an interactive and student-centered environment in the classroom, and/or hybrid (Zoom or Teams)
  • Develop curriculum and prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses
  • Prepare, administer and mark tests (when necessary)
  • Maintain a professional relationship with students while ensuring that their general well-being is also looked after
  • Update and maintain grades on a weekly basis, submit student progress and suggest changes if needed
  • Teach and guide students in customer service orientated class projects
  • Provide individual feedback and direction to students throughout the program
  • Evaluate and document student progress
  • Keep abreast of current industry practices
  • Other duties as assigned


  • University degree in a hospitality-related field and a minimum 2 years of corporate training or hospitality -related work experience
  • Teaching experience with international students preferred (minimum 2 years)
  • Experience in Hospitality and Business at the management level
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft office suite
  • Exceptional Computer and Social Media skills
  • Short listed candidates may be required to deliver a demo lesson to a scheduled class
