WHAT YOU WILL DO

As the Fund Development Coordinator, you will be a key member of the Marketing & Communications division in LutherCare Communities (LCC), partnering with other divisions to achieve organizational priorities and goals.  You will generate funds through the planning and implementation of fundraising and engagement strategies including fundraising events, individual donor relations and promotional activities. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications (the Director), the Fund Development Coordinator supports strategy by contributing to the development and execution of divisional plans, including cascading, monitoring, reporting, and course correction. The Fund Development Coordinator works closely with media sources, community partners and other external partners.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Strategic Alignment – Contribute to initiatives, strategies, and methods to effectively and efficiently support and achieve the division’s operational plans that align to the strategic plan and LCC’s priorities and directives
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management – Building, fostering, and maintaining effective relationships internally, and externally. Foster communication and healthy relationships with residents, visitors, and families
  • Position Functions - Research new avenues to secure funding and donations for the LutherCare Foundation through government grants, charitable donations, and sponsorship opportunities. Coordinate, plan and execute fundraising programs and activities. Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and evaluate fund development strategies. Implement donor stewardship activities, legacy planning and recognition practices including promotion to stakeholders. Maintain the donor management software program and complete annual charitable receipts
  • Reporting - Prepare and deliver reports to leadership, and management teams in support of a cross-functional team. Prepare material for presentation to the leadership team, internal committees, and external partners including federal and provincial government agencies

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE POSITION & ORGANIZATION

Education:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset
  • Certified fundraising executive designation (or near completion) is considered an asset
  • Licensed and in good standing with professional association and/or regulatory body, if applicable

Experience:

  • 3+ years working in a donor relations and fund development capacity
  • Experience in a multi-stakeholder environment with multiple locations
  • Experience working with Federal and Provincial Governments
  • Experience working with First Nation and Metis communities
  • Experience in a hybrid organization (for-profit and not-for-profit) would be considered an asset
  • Experience in a health-care sector would be considered an asset
  • Experience in a housing sector would be considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
