Position: Marketing & Fund Development Manager, Full-Time

ConneXions is a mid-sized, non-profit organization that provides a variety of residential, community and employment services supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. We see a community where all people with disabilities have equal opportunities to lead active, fulfilling lives and are recognized as contributing members of the community.
This role will work under the Director of Community Services to address the Society's annual fundraising, marketing and communications needs and works to increase awareness about disabilities and promote the Society through presentations, event coordination, media relations, communications materials, award programs and community event participation. The Marketing & Fund Development Manager is responsible for the leadership of the Marketing & Development department including supervision of the Community Relations & Events Coordinator, self-advocate employees and/or volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Development
• Writing and developing communication materials, grant proposals, funding applications and reports
• Effective direct marketing to individuals and businesses to obtain donations and sponsorships and donor upgrading
• Develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions
• Identify and build relationships with potential and existing donors
• Increase funds by researching and targeting charitable trusts whose criteria match the charity aims and activities
Marketing & Awareness
• Coordinate the production and distribution of external publications such as annual reports, Community ConneXtor, and newsletters
• Manage and maintain engagement and advocacy programs, including; awareness campaigns to corporate, school and community groups
• Brainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns
• Plan and execute initiatives to reach the target audience through appropriate channels (social media, email, print, web, etc.)
• Develop appropriate metrics for social media to determine the impact
• Build rapport with membership to increase renewals
• Lead and manage customer engagement and communication programs
• Maintain/manage the Society website and select social media sites

Education, Training and Experience

• 3+ years of demonstrated fundraising results and experience
• University degree with an emphasis on fundraising, communications, marketing and/or Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE)
• Minimum of two years experience in the community living sector
• High degree of written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proficiency with Marketing and Fundraising software, e.g. MS Office, Canva, Final Cut Pro, Adobe, or similar software tools
• Understanding of Canada Revenue Agency guidelines for charities including donations and sponsorships
• Experience using and administering donor management platforms (preferably eTapestry) to track activity and analyze donor information
• Experience with financial reporting and data management
• Demonstrated working knowledge of community service partners, applicable legislation and policies, and best practices within the community living sector
• Technical knowledge of the latest digital marketing tools
• Experience creating and executing marketing campaigns and programs that drive donor engagement and advocacy

Pre-Requisites:
• Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector)
• Medical Fit to Work form
• Tuberculosis Screening
• First aid certificate
• Reliable vehicle and valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
• Fully vaccinated for COVID 19 (Government Health requirement)
• Satisfactory Reference Checks
• Successful completion of ConneXions orientation
• Other requirements as detailed in ConneXions Policies and Procedures

Hours of Work: Hours of work per week: 37.5
Schedule: the needs of the program dictate the actual hours required. This position may involve evening and weekend work.
Salary range: $60,000 – 70,000 annually
