Scouts Canada is looking to hire an Executive Director, Business Services - an exciting and multi-faceted role that provides visionary and strategic leadership for the overall operational health and well-being of the organization across the continuum of business services for Scouts Canada. Reporting to the CEO, the Executive Director is accountable for the strategic direction and management of HR, DEI, Finance, Technology, Safe Scouting, Risk Management, Legal, and Insurance, ensuring outstanding stewardship, integrity, and accountability in conjunction with various committees, leadership, and service providers. As a key member of the executive team, the Executive Director actively contributes to the development and implementation of Scouts Canada strategic plan and priorities.

The ideal candidate will act as a strategic advisor and business partner while leading the operations to support Scouts Canada’s initiatives. You are hands on and lead by example; with experience leading culture initiatives you know the value of building collaborative relationships. A visionary, you understand the impact of decisions on the business and look to develop an environment that embraces innovation and efficiently integrates growth into the organization. Along with 10+years of senior management experience, you will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant field and an MBA is considered an asset. Functionally, you will have advanced understandings of HR, Finance, and technology operations, ideally developed from a non-profit organization. Lastly, you bring in depth knowledge and experience formulating and implementing organization-wide programs, policies, and objectives.

Scouts Canada has their office headquarters in Ottawa. Since COVID-19, staff have had the option to work fully remote from home and/or work in the office. The preference is for the Executive Director to be based in Ottawa however the successful candidate can be based in eastern Canada with the ability to readily travel (15-20%) as needed to Ottawa.
