About Covenant House Vancouver

Since 1997, Covenant House Vancouver has provided relentless support for youth experiencing, or at-risk of experiencing, homelessness. We provide support to young people age 16 to 24 who have experienced a wide range of early life and ongoing, complex trauma; including physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect. Our purpose is to serve all youth, with absolute respect and unconditional love, to help youth experiencing homelessness, and provide a safe and supportive environment for all youth in need.

The Impact a Philanthropy Associate 2, Donations Processing can make:

The Philanthropy Associate 2, Donations Processing is responsible for ensuring exemplary donations administration and customer service to Covenant House Vancouver’s donors. Through effective and efficient donation administration and stewardship, the Development Associate contributes to the team’s fundraising efforts and focuses on donation processing and data entry. With the opportunity to build and maintain relationships with our donors.

This position is primarily in the office at 1280 Seymour Street with a possibility of a few days a month to work from home.

How you will contribute:

  • Manages incoming mail and donations, ensuring accuracy and task completion in a timely manner and achieving daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
  • Ensures all data and donor information is properly captured in Raiser’s Edge
  • Provide administrative support to the Philanthropy Team
  • Acts as a front-line contact for our donor base, responding to donor inquiries and requests (phone, e-mail) in a professional and timely manner
  • Processes online donations supporting the needs of donors and Events teams
  • Other duties as required

Who are we looking for?

Education and Experience:

  • One to two years of related administration experience
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge database software is an asset
  • Experience working for a non-profit and/or in an office environment is an asset
  • Data base management and Gift Processing an asset
  • An interest in philanthropy and learning new skills

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills; both written and verbal
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a supportive team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable with repetition
  • Comfortable working in multiple databases
  • Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Passion for supporting youth experiencing homelessness

This position reports to and provides direct support to the Supervisor of Donations Processing.
