Edmonton Meals on Wheels is a local non-profit agency that provides home-delivered meals, other food services and social connections to a diverse mix of people.  We’re well-known for our exceptional food services and creative, innovative strategies that engage the community in various events, partnerships and volunteer opportunities.  We are looking for a Client Services Coordinator to support our mission of providing nutritious meals which provide health, wellbeing independence for Edmontonians.

 

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Client & Volunteer Services Manager, the Client Services Coordinator is responsible and accountable for the day-to-day administrative operation of meal delivery and the client database, to ensure that clients are accurately enrolled, meals are scheduled and delivered, changes are entered and services is terminated as required in a customer-focussed manner.

The Client Services Coordinator shall utilize exceptional customer service skills, ensuring all phone, email and in-person inquires provide optimum quality, friendly and professional service with every interaction and remains the focus of our daily work.  The Client Services Coordinator shall ensure appropriate and accurate records, communications documented and that program outcomes are measured. The successful incumbent will be a self-directed, motivated team player who is compassionate, patient, organized and committed to the mission of Edmonton Meals on Wheels.  The individual will have customer service experience in areas such as working with vulnerable people and seniors.

 

This role is scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a knowledgeable understanding of the safe and efficient operations of the kitchen and agency as a whole
  • Promotes Edmonton Meals on Wheels (EMOW) programs through referral work and to clients and caregivers with the goal of expanding our client base
  • Responds to telephone, online and in-person to program inquiries
  • Responsible and accountable for the accurate and timely administrative functions associated with all Edmonton Meals on Wheels (EMOW) programs and client accounts, not limited to creating, updating or closing profiles, entering, changing or deleting information
  • Assisting with morning bag preparation, delivery and pick-up tasks and picking last-minute orders
  • Supports the delivery of meals, pick-up of event items, fund development activities, works in the kitchen and other agency needs as requested and required
  • When meal delivery is when required, follow all traffic laws and safety rules
  • Understanding of the importance of a small team and helping wherever needed, liaising with other staff and departments on a regular basis
  • Working with volunteers, seniors and vulnerable adults

 

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field with 1 to 3 years of experience (administration, marketing, customer-relations or nutrition, for example)
  • Excellent data entry and strong proficiency of Microsoft Suite Applications
  • Organized, excellent time-management skills and able to handle multiple projects under tight timelines

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the last 6 months
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, clear Driver’s Abstract
  • Reliable vehicle is an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to speak, read and understand English fluently
  • Ability to bend, crouch, climb stairs and lift up to 30 pounds
  • Shows an initiative and is a team player – displays excellent work ethics

Salary

  • $40,000 - $45,000 per year
