Outward Bound Canada (OBC) is committed to helping Canadian youth change the trajectory of their lives. With young people desiring to thrive in an unpredictable and changing world, OBC, a registered charity, offers social-emotional education through experiential adventures in the outdoors. Since 1969, OBC has inspired over 150,000 participants to discover their potential, with a particular emphasis on providing greater access to those facing socioeconomic barriers. . For our youth, these experiences develop resilience, social-emotional intelligence, and environmental leadership to contribute to a better, more compassionate, and resilient society. Outward Bound Canada operates an urban program based at our Evergreen Brickwork‘s location in the Don Valley and also makes use of green spaces in and around the Greater Toronto Area. In this position, you will be working in a camp/outdoor education centre framework to introduce students to the urban wild. Responsibilities include facilitating activities in and about the urban wilderness, and highlighting connections to environmental education and personal growth. Team building, nature connections, hiking, canoeing, backcountry skills, and environmental education are among the program goals for our middle school students. Our high school programs pair canoeing, backpacking, and urban navigation to provide continuous journeys through natural spaces in and around our cities. We are striving to provide life-changing outdoor educational experiences that are accessible, relevant, and contribute toward a better world. Our students include both school and community groups as well as individuals looking for a journey in their own backyard ranging from 1-5 days long. Outward Bound Canada is looking for enthusiastic, hardworking individuals who have the credentials and capacity to work at the Toronto Urban Wilderness providing exceptional educational programming to students, teachers, and schools.

Per Diem: $160-$250/day
