Graphics Installer



Reporting to the Head of Design Department, the incumbent provides specialized work in the preparation and installation of exhibition graphics and signage for the Gallery; installs, services and maintains graphics as directed; maintains specialized tools and equipment for preparation and installation of graphics.


The work is performed under the close supervision of the Head and in collaboration with the Designers and will be evaluated in terms of the accurate results and the high quality of craftsmanship achieved.




  • prepares all exhibition and signage graphics: die-cut vinyl (weeding, pre-masking) and print graphics (mounting, trimming) both small and large scale
  • installs all graphics to a high degree of accuracy and precision
  • follows technical layouts and production drawings to accurately and efficiently prepare and install signage and exhibition graphics
  • reviews all produced and installed materials to ensure consistency and accuracy of production throughout the preparation and installation phases
  • consults on production set up for optimizing installation results
  • works closely and collaboratively with other Installers and Designers
  • skilled in the use and care of precision hand and power tools
  • skilled in basic carpentry for graphics storage and specialized signage
  • supports the Department by keeping the physical space of the work area organized, clean and tidy


These duties and responsibilities outlined above are representative, but not all inclusive.






Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by technical school courses in design, production or construction plus a minimum of 1 year experience installing large scale graphics, die cut vinyl installation and preparation, and preparing signage; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Scissor lift training will be offered and required. Basic computer and email skills required and experience with Microsoft Teams is an asset. Previous experience working in a cultural institution or around artwork is an asset.


SALARY:        Pay Grade 18 Step 1 $24.74 per hour plus 10% in lieu of benefits


HOURS:        7-hour days booked between 8:30 am and 5:30pm, Monday to Fridays up to 70 hours bi-weekly - on call position so hours will vary by workload
