Communications & Development Lead

Full time (35 hrs/wk)

 

HIV Edmonton is an inclusive and dynamic community-based charitable organization devoted to ZERO: zero new HIV transmissions, zero stigma and discrimination and zero AIDS related deaths.

 

HIV Edmonton is seeking applications for the position of Communications & Development Lead.  The Lead is part of our management team and provides valuable and essential services to the organization's business operations working collaboratively with agency staff, funders and community organizations in the Edmonton Zone.  The incumbent in this position coordinates program grants, donor relations and contributes to the long-term success of the organization by leading the development and implementation of the overall engagement strategy including the development and implementation of the HIV Edmonton communications plan and all media (including social media). This position may appeal to a candidate in the HIV Edmonton community.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Communications & Development programming through equity lens
  • Responsible for the oversight of the agency marketing /communications plan and supervises and provides leadership to the Public Engagement Coordinator & Volunteer & Events Coordinator
  • Responsible for the implementation and oversight of the Canadian Race Relations Project which aims to develop health curriculum/program design materials that powerfully connect health equity and racism in our prevention & education work
  • Development and expansion of fund development initiatives, the coordination of agency events, and the development of a donor stewardship program
  • Manage documentation protocols, budget monitoring and reporting as necessary

Qualifications

  • Degree in related field and a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar position
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of HIV and STBBI and related services available in the community
  • Exceptional supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and quality
  • Competency in computer software/databases
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work in a highly demanding role with flexibility and adaptability
  • Demonstrated strong strategic planning skills

Salary:  $58,240 to $60,060 per annum with health benefits package plus RRSP contribution.
