Edmonton Meals on Wheels is hiring RECEPTIONIST/CLIENT SERVICES SUPPORT to support the delivery of home cooked meals and/or groceries to some of Edmonton’s most vulnerable.

 

Edmonton Meals on Wheels is a local non-profit agency that provides home-delivered meals, other food services and social connections to a diverse mix of people.  We’re well-known for our exceptional food services and creative, innovative strategies that engage the community in various events, partnerships and volunteer opportunities.  We are looking for a RECEPTIONIST/CLIENT SERVICES SUPPORT to support our mission of providing nutritious meals which provide health, wellbeing and independence for Edmontonians.

 

Position Overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent position in our Client Services Department. This role is scheduled to work 30 hours per week. The successful incumbent will be the first point of contact, friendly and eager to help others, will be a self-directed, motivated team player who is compassionate, patient, organized and committed to the mission of Edmonton Meals on Wheels. The successful candidate will have customer service experience in areas such as working with vulnerable people and seniors and experience working with databases and exceptional data entry skills and be eager to be part of a dynamic, energized team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responds to telephone, online and in-person to program inquiries
  • Enrolls new clients and administers changes to our programs
  • Understand the importance of a small team and helping wherever it is needed
  • Excellent time management, data entry, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Ensures communication is professional and appropriate
  • Reports all pertinent information to supervisor
  • Completes meal deliveries when required, following all traffic policies and safety rules
  • Additional tasks and duties as assigned

Scheduled Hours

  • Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm excluding statutory holidays

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector search
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, accepted by Meals on Wheels insurance company to be able to drive company vehicles and provide a clear Driver’s Abstract
  • Positive, reliable and professional team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Experience working in an administrative role with excellent data entry skills using Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Customer service experience required

Salary

  • $19.00 - $20.50 per hour
