Development & Marketing Coordinator

Full-time, 40 hours/week (Some evening and weekend work required)

The BC Lupus Society is a provincial charitable organization dedicated to funding research and providing education, awareness, and support to people affected by lupus.

We are looking for a full-time Development & Marketing Coordinator that can support us in fundraising, raising awareness, event planning, social media, content creation and grant writing.

This is a full-time, 40 hours/week position. This is a fully remote role based anywhere in British Columbia. Vacation pay, flexible work environment, self-managed role, and opportunities for growth. 

Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising, Awareness & Grant Writing:
    • Work with board to develop and evaluate an annual fundraising plan
    • Organize fundraising events
    • Coordinate publicity for events: Shed Light on Lupus Walk/Run for Lupus, Symposium, & Gala
    • Track and ensure donor and sponsor recognition
    • Coordinate volunteers and resources to effectively deliver community-based fundraising events
    • Research various grants and apply

  • Social Media & Newsletter: 
    • Create and execute the BC Lupus Society social media strategy
    • Create content & graphics for social media
    • Working across key social media channels including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn engage frequently (minimum monthly) with pertinent and appealing information and topics
    • Publish quarterly newsletter

Qualifications:

  • IT and Computer skills – Microsoft Office, web and social media, blogging/writing, troubleshooting
  • Experience working with and/or supervising volunteers
  • Fundraising and/or government relations experience an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with excellent time management & organization skills
