The Citadel Theatre, one of Canada’s largest and busiest professional, not-for-profit theatre companies and facilities, is seeking a highly collaborative, driven individual with a sales background to oversee and coordinate rentals and leases within the Citadel Theatre complex.  The Rentals Manager is a pro-active leader whose approach fosters a respectful workplace, provides a welcoming, safe experience to all stakeholders and ensures revenue goals and company standards are met.  This dynamic individual possess exceptional communication skills, is highly organized and sales driven.




The Rentals Manager, directed by the Executive Director will oversee all rentals within the Citadel Theatre as well as maintain all leases held by external businesses within the theatre complex.  Working closely with Hospitality, Guest Services and Production departments, the Rentals Manager will strive to achieve goals set by the Executive Director while guaranteeing the highest level of patron experience.  The Rentals Manager must be ready to take a proactive role in creating a respectful and positive workplace where all of our stakeholders are excited, connected and invested in the work of the theatre.




  • Work with the Executive Director to generate and target new leads.
  • Meet or exceed all sales targets.
  • Prepare various weekly and monthly rental reports.
  • Understand and promote the Citadel Theatres various programming offerings.
  • Visit with clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote the Citadel Theatre.
  • Meet with clients and manage inquiries regarding rental spaces and lease opportunities within the Citadel Theatre complex.
  • Liaise with current tenants as required to ensure all needs are being met.
  • Negotiate all long-term lease agreements for the Citadel Theatre.
  • Develop proposals, pricing options, write contracts and produce invoicing for all rentals and leases.
  • Work with accounting to obtain deposits and balance of payments from clients.
  • Coordinate all logistical support for rentals. This includes weddings, wedding photos, sponsor events, corporate host nights, media nights, luncheons, meetings, etc.
  • Administer oversight and ensure adequate supervision for all rentals.
  • Maintain client records.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other departments to coordinate internal organization, smooth patron experiences and safety. Will build close relationships with Production, Hospitality, Guest Services, Security, Janitorial and Accounting teams.
  • Perform weekly walk-throughs of the building to report any issues to the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain regular inventory of all Citadel Theatre Rental’s property.
  • Perform and coordinate with Front of House and Hospitality Managers the weekly ‘Manager on Duty’ role as required.
  • Ensure that required departments are trained and knowledgeable in all Rentals processes, products and specs to a standard which allows consistent execution and accurate communication to patrons.
  • Oversee and schedule the Rentals Assistant.
  • Other duties as required.




Job Requirements


  • Post-secondary education in a related field or related experience.
  • Experience in sourcing clients and community networking.
  • Strong sales background. Understand the sales process and dynamics.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers.
  • Experience using computers and technology for variety of tasks.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including word, excel and outlook.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a face paced environment.
  • Flexible schedule that requires evenings and weekends.


The annual salary for this position is $50,000.00.
