EMOW is a local non-profit agency that provides home-delivered meals, other food services and social connections to a diverse mix of people. We’re well known for exceptional food services and creative, innovative strategies that engage the community in various events, partnerships, and volunteer opportunities.

 

We are looking for Delivery Driver/Client Services Support to join our team!

 

POSITION SUMMARY

This position plays a key role in the success of Edmonton Meals on Wheels and is under the supervision of the Client and Volunteer Services Manager.

 

The Delivery Driver/Client Services Support will be a primary point of contact delivering meals to our clients. The incumbent must be flexible and adaptive to manage changes to route scheduling. Our Delivery Driver/Client Services Support will assist the Client Services Department with daily tasks to ensure our clients receive the highest level of customer service.

 

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures timely delivery of meals and/or groceries to individuals or housing facilities throughout greater Edmonton
  • Drives throughout the city using our Meals on Wheels delivery vans and/or personal vehicle
  • Coordinates with the Scheduling Coordinator supporting volunteers as needed
  • Supports the labeling of meal bags for the daily meal program
  • Cleans and sanitizes delivery materials (bags, bins) and delivery vehicles
  • Adheres to safe food handling practices, dress code, health and safety protocols, and personal hygiene
  • Demonstrates excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Additional tasks and duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Accepted by Meals on Wheels insurance company to be able to drive the company vehicles
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, clear Driving Abstract and minimum of 3 years driving experience
  • Able and willing to drive a company vehicle in all weather conditions throughout greater Edmonton
  • Able to use your own smart phone for texts, phone calls and mapping capabilities including GPS
  • Ability to crouch, bend, walk and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Positive, reliable and professional team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English

 

WAGES

  • $17.50 per hour
