Is this you?

We are currently seeking a motivated leader to strengthen and enrich our fundraising initiatives as the Director of Development. Reporting to the Senior Director of Development and Communications, you collaborate in the visioning, planning, executing and establishing the strategic direction for the overall fundraising portfolio that is consistent with the agency’s short and long-term fundraising revenue growth plans. The goals of the position are to help develop and articulate strategies that take advantage of current and future fundraising opportunities and enable the organization to successfully meet its financial and sustainability goals to continue to grow programs to serve more youth.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you nurture team work and drive for results as you help lead the Fundraising and Communications team. Your build collaborative relationships and inspire trust with donors, partners and internal stakeholders. You are a master of thinking strategically and making things happen; spotting opportunities and articulating situations, creating efficiencies and making certain each detail is properly identified and addressed. You lead with courage and demonstrate passion for the agency’s purpose and vision, and communicating both in a way that inspires the heads, hands and hearts to act to support our mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate in the creation, execution and leadership, short and long-term fundraising initiatives across all of Big Sisters funding streams, including
    • Grants
    • Individual and major gifts
    • Planned giving
    • Corporate and event sponsorships
  • Collaborate in leading the team to meet and exceed funding goals.
  • Support the management of budgets.
  • Help create new strategies to generate new corporate partners, planned giving and major gifts.
  • Work with in partnership to develop and implement a plan to engage current donors and cultivate new donors, as well as recognition plans and activities.

THE CANDIDATE:

  • Minimum 3-5 years working experience in fundraising or similar roles.
  • Success in building and maintaining partnerships with high level internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience leading and motivating a team.
  • Exceptional collaborative skills and enjoy working within a team environment.
