  • Have Post-secondary education, in a Social Services related field, preferably a career counselling and/or facilitation certificate and/or related University Degree with experience in career counselling
  • Have professional working proficiency in Ukrainian & understanding of Ukrainian culture
  • Have knowledge of the Ukrainian language and culture, community agencies, services, resources and employers within the community
  • Have intermediate proficiency in MS Office Programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as iCare (preferred)
  • Have a valid Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

 

What you will do:  The Facilitator/Business Coach supports the activities of the Job Skills Employment Programs and Services activities by:

 

  • Assessing clients to obtain employment history, educational background, career goals etc.
  • Identifying barriers to employment and assisting clients to develop job readiness skills
  • Assessing the need for additional assistance such as counselling, financial aid and/or further vocational training and making appropriate referrals
  • Supervising and mentoring all participants and ensuring the development of their individual Work Experience Placement Plans
  • Supporting and monitoring clients as they progress through training interventions and /or return to work action plans
  • Following up with clients at appropriate intervals to assess progress and record employment
  • Developing curriculum for specific groups and needs, evaluating and adjusting accordingly
  • Delivering seminars and workshops to clients, both in-house and as part of outreach strategies
  • Assisting clients in the use of resources and technology for job search activities
  • Entering client data into the database and maintaining file notes and appropriate documentation around clients’ progress
  • Delivering high-quality service as outlined in Job Skills’ customer service standards
  • Participating in delivering outreach and marketing activities within the community; including job fairs, community and employment agencies, and performing outreach to clients and employers
  • Working understanding of operational business departments and their roles

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/certifications:
    • Minimum education requirement is a Post-secondary education
  • 2-4 years experience in the Social Service sector
  • Proficient in Ukrainian & possess an understanding of Ukrainian culture (required for 1 of 2 roles)
