ABOUT IRON & EARTH

Iron & Earth is a worker-led, non-profit organization that was formed around the lunchroom tables of the oilsands during an oil price crash which resulted in over 100,000 oilpatch employees losing their jobs between 2015 and 2017. We realized that our skills were transferable to the renewable energy industry and recognized the urgency of diversifying into these technologies.

ABOUT THE JOB 

Iron & Earth is looking to hire a Human Resources Assistant who will be responsible for helping with day-to-day tasks of the HR team. The role is considered an entry-level position and all students looking for a job or internship are welcomed to apply. You will be part of the Human Resources team and will play an active role in developing and growing the Iron & Earth team. 




RESPONSIBILITIES

Main responsibilities and daily activities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Research and create job descriptions;
  • Conduct screening calls and interviews;
  • Manage incoming applications;
  • Notify candidates about the results of the recruitment process and prepare job offers;
  • Advertise the job descriptions on different job boards;
  • Create, organize and update employee contracts;
  • Keep record of contract status;
  • Schedule interviews and meetings;
  • Project related recruitment and interviewing;
  • Assist in developing and improving policies and procedures;

 

APPLICANT QUALITIES  

The ideal candidate:

  • Pursuing  university or college degree in a Human Resources related area is considered an asset;
  • Previous  recruiting and human resources experience is considered an asset;
  • Previous experience with GSuite is considered to be an asset;

 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS 

Compensation and hours

This can be a full-time or part-time position, with a minimum of 20 hours per week. Compensation is commensurate with experience. 

 

Location

Anywhere in Canada, as we are a completely remote organization.  Work hours should overlap with Eastern time zone.
