The Refugee Centre based in Montreal Metro area  is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of a Part-Time Date Science Instructor. The Refugee Centre is a non-profitable organisation run by professionals who have worked together to build an organization imploring youth to work with the community to help strengthen the refugee and immigrant population through unity and integration. We are known to embark on a journey to re-establish the way nonprofits work, and to strengthen the communities they are involved with. Our company is known to believe that modern day obstacles and problems need modern day solutions, thus the creation of The Refugee Centre and its sister NPO DevBloc. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon at the end of October. Workshop dates to be confirmed. Flexible schedule.

 

As an Online Instructor of Data Science, this compelling position is an online instructor position with curriculum development as you seek to provide a solid end-to-end experience for students of The Refugee Centre. This position will require you to provide Data Science related topics, construct an all-inclusive curriculum that prepares students for a potential career in Data Science. In addition, you will be managing exercises, instructional videos & hosting continuous workshops. Working with your students, you will be ensuring they are meeting their goals, offering feedback on how they can emprove & ensure that the student experience is comprehensible. 

 

Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • The candidate must have 2+ years of experience in the industry or relevant experience
  • Strong understanding in and deliver lectures and tutorials on Data Science related topics
  • The candidate should be open to new arrivals looking for first experience in the workplace.
  • The candidate should have the knowledge of the English language and preferred knowledge of French, a third language is a strong asset (Arabic, Spanish, Farsi, Ukrainian, Hindi, etc).
  • The candidate should be organized & a team player that will contribute to data science curriculum development.
  • Excellent communication and professional skills.
  • The candidate should be empathetic & compassionate.
  • Must have a passion for teaching & managing groups of individuals.

The candidate should be able to provide one-on-one support to students regarding their Data Science improvement.
