WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

In support of the Vision, Mission and Values of LutherCare Communities, we are building out our Finance division and are looking for an Accountant to join our team!

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Key Roles and Responsibilities of the Accountant are:

  • Being an integral role in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements for multiple entities in accordance with reporting requirements
  • Assisting with the year end audit and internal controls testing
  • Provides calculations for filing and payment requirements for provincial and federal taxes
  • Responsible for calculating and submission of payroll remittances
  • Maintaining Fixed Assets tracking, processes and procedures
  • Month end reconciliations
  • Assisting in execution of special projects and pro-forma analysis as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE POSITION & ORGANIZATION

Qualified applicants would need a strong financial and accounting background with a university degree in Business, Commerce, or Accounting.  Preference will be given to applicants that possess a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation that is in good standing or working towards the designation. 

Applicants would also possess superior analytical and problem-solving skills, have high attention to detail, prioritize and manage time efficiently to ensure key deadlines are met, and work effectively in a team as well as independently and succeed with minimal supervision.  Successful applicants must also be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
