Epilepsy Canada is governed by a nationally representative Board of Directors, comprised of leading professionals from the neurology and business communities. Founded in 1966, the organization depends on donor and volunteer support for the continued development and delivery of its research grant programs.

 

Role Overview

This role is responsible for the coordination, execution and delivery of fundraising events and programs at the national, regional and local levels, ensuring that these meet or exceed revenue and attendance targets, while being mindful of cost ratios. This includes national campaigns, mission delivery programs, initiated campaigns and local community-based events led by 3rd Party Champions across Canada.

This position is customer service driven and supports donor and stakeholder communications. The role leads community giving tactics to engage affected individuals, friends, families, volunteers and vendors in fundraising, largely through events.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Role include:

Fundraising / Revenue Generation

  • Meet or exceed annual fundraising goals by coordinating and executing various fundraising events and programs in alignment with regional and national plans.
  • Assist in driving attendance at events through connecting interested stakeholders and influencers.
  • Identify and maximize event revenue generation opportunities e.g., ticket sales, silent auctions, raffles, table sales, etc to meet or exceed fundraising goals.
  • Solicit sponsorships up to $7,500.

Community Engagement and Networking

  • Lead Volunteer / 3rd Party Champions including student interns, affected donors and individuals, event volunteers, committee development. Solicit, leverage and engage volunteers to support and run DIY (Do-It-Yourself) events.
  • Source and cultivate strategic partnerships with service clubs, small businesses, corporations, strategic partners to support these events through sharing resources (human and financial), tools and best practices.

Event Management

  • Collaborate with the regional and national Ambassadors and Influencers to identify fundraising events and develop implementation plans for event maximization and execution at each level.
  • Lead national and regional marketing strategy.
  • Coordinate and execute events within the expense budgets.
  • Evaluate return on investment improvements to achieve higher impact and return at future events.
  • Anticipate and plan future events, trends, problems and opportunities.
  • Experience with email marketing, social media and tools beneficial.
