Hours of Work Per Week: 40
Scheduled Hours: Flexible Monday thru Friday scheduling, for a total of 40 hours per week, to meet operational needs. Requires the full ability to perform on-call support.

The Program
Mountainside Support Services provides individualized 24-hour support for children/youth and adults with a variety of specialized and/or complex needs.

The Position
As a senior manager, the Program Director fosters external relationships with funders and community partners, oversees management of operations and provides leadership for a cluster of social services programs in Port Alberni, BC.
The focus is on ensuring quality in our commitments toward client service, maintaining and building relationships, promoting opportunities for new business, and oversight of contract management.

While working with finance, administration, human resource management and quality assurance, they will forge a cohesive team, develop positive strategies, address any obstacles, promote organizational values and plans to achieve business goals with focus on quality of service and compassionate care.
Wage will be commensurate with the qualifications, at time of hiring.

In Your Role You Will
• Champion a clear vision of client service success; formulate plans for service development, regularly assessing and communicating priorities.
• Build a strong team and positive work environment - recruit, coach and mentor program employees.
• Inspire the supervisory team, therefore employees as well to use strengths and innovative, best practices to provide quality service and achieve outcomes more effectively.
• Ensure accreditation compliant systems are in place to evaluate progress, processes and results and identify gaps in service/quality.
• Plan, develop and implement new programs and services.
• Administer and report on budgetary, operational and organizational activities.
• Collaboratively contribute to strategic planning and priority setting for the organization.
• Uncover issues, conflicts and disagreements and resolve constructively.
• Maintain an environment where safety for everyone is of paramount importance.
• Provide on-call and emergency coverage as required.
• Miscellaneous job-related duties as required.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess
• 3-5 years similar management or human resources experience, preferably in the community living or social services field
• A degree in Social Work, one of the humanities, social sciences, business administration or related field with educational preparation for business management.
• Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Must have business administration and operational leadership skills with experience in financial and human resource management.
• Commitment to quality assurance; knowledge of CARF accreditation standards and certification requirements.
• A positive attitude that acknowledges the gifts, talents and passions of persons being served; an aptitude for service and support; and relevant knowledge and skill base.
• Experience developing financial budgets, managing resources and analyzing financial information.
• Able to identify and secure funding/revenue sources, organize resources and establish priorities.
• Strong conflict resolution, mediation and crisis prevention and intervention techniques.
• Communications and public relations skills will be useful to develop and deliver presentations and foster relationships with government officials, community groups, etc.
