Pacific Community Resources Society is seeking an experienced, energetic and engaging Program Assistant to provide reception and administrative support to staff and stakeholders of the WorkBC center. The Program Assistant will be responsible for basic reception duties, general maintenance of the office area, and provide administrative support to the staff and leaders of the center. This position requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as pre-screening individuals for eligibility and services is essential, on the phone as well as in person. Since the center is open to the public, the Program Assistant will be comfortable engaging with diverse people with a variety of challenges and needs to be flexible and adaptable, able to identify priorities and adapt to changes.
The Program Support worker will require excellent computer skills, be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and working on complex data bases. As for ordering and maintaining an inventory of office supplies and financial supports are part of the role, organization and detailed-oriented are attributes essential to this position. Since this position is often the first point of contact with the center, it is essential that the Program Assistant be knowledgeable about the WorkBC services available and be able to provide accurate information to those who inquire.
Dimensions of Work:
This position requires working evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and other days 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. based on operational need.
Academic and Job Experience Required:
An equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
