Reporting to the CEO, the CFO oversees the financial stability of the organization and ensures that responsible processes exist related to budgeting, investments, and the acquisition, maintenance and improvement of the physical facilities and capital assets of the organization.

 

In addition, the CFO leads and a multi-functional team of central services that includes Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Corporate Education, Administrative Support, Communications and Volunteer Services.

Position Overview:

  • Provide leadership within a continuous quality improvement approach, and build and maintain relationships with community agencies, government and funders.
  • Provide strategic and operational support to the President & CEO in business planning, financial planning and reporting activities.
  • Collaborate and lead business process redesign to enhance the efficiency of program and service delivery.
  • Work directly with the Board of Directors and participate in board committees.
  • Lead the development of business plans and objectives for the centralized service areas.
  • Ensure effective financial reporting, lead forecasting and budgeting (operating and capital) development process and provide analysis. 
  • Support the CEO and Directors in discussions and negotiations with funding partners regarding adequate funding for the provision of services outlined in service agreements.
  • Ensures proper internal controls and policy compliance are adequate for the safeguarding of assets.

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education or training.
  • CPA Designation.
  • Leadership and oversight of an organization’s financial and business performance.
  • Experience in a senior management or senior leadership capacity, leading a team of multi-disciplinary professionals.
  • Experience in reporting to a board of directors or being part of a board.
  • Experience in leading projects, change management and continuous improvement.  
  • Hands on experience in budgeting and financial responsibilities.
  • Experience in operational and strategic planning as well as budget development.
  • Experience managing diverse teams and interdisciplinary teamwork.

St.Amant programs include residential services within a  Health & Transition facility and a variety of services in more than 100 homes. Community based services also include: respite, a wide-range of clinical supports, and early intervention for children with autism. St.Amant has year-round school and a child care centre that primarily serves staff and is also open to the community. as well as a Research Centre affiliated with the University of Manitoba.
