Position Summary:

Pacific Community Resources Society is seeking an experienced leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple programs in the Fraser East. These programs include a Wellness Centre that operates 7:00 am – 7:00 pm 7 days a week serving individuals facing homelessness, an Integrated Community Outreach program, as well as a Transport Van service for those needing substance use, harm reduction and medical services. This position also involves participating / leading community collaborative tables. Programs are in Chilliwack, however, can involve transporting participants within the Fraser Region. 

The Manager provides knowledge and support to staff as well as serves as a firsthand example of compassionate care to all in need including front-line workers. This includes a thorough cultural understanding and trauma informed approach that involves our Indigenous and fellow neighbors. The Manager is responsible for providing training and supervision to staff as well as providing support for front-line workers. 

The Manager understands PCRS policies, service targets and mandates, developing and implementing strategies to ensure effective service delivery. The Manager should possess strong leadership skills, consistently evaluate program operations and outcomes. Collaborating with the Director, the Manager promotes best practices at work to ensure high-quality service and fiscal viability of the contract.

This position requires working evenings and weekends based on operational need.

Academic and Job Experience Required:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, combined with at least five (5) years’ experience in a leadership/manager position directly responsible for substance use and outreach / wellness programming. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.     

Basic Requirements:

  • Criminal Record Check including the vulnerable sector
  • Drivers abstract and use of own vehicle
  • Proof of being fully Vaccinated for Covid 19
  • Demonstrated experience supporting teams working within a crisis environment
  • Demonstrated experience in leading day programming with those facing homelessness
  • Demonstrated experience in program management, staff leadership, supervision, fiscal management, and budgeting.
  • Excellent computer skills and administrative capability.
  • Occupational First Aid – Level 1.

Desired Requirements:

  • Mental Health First Aid certification.
  • De-Escalation/Non-Violent Intervention training.
