Reporting to the Supervisor, Business Support Services, the Business Support Services (BSS) Clerk performs a variety of administrative duties in the areas of facilities management, training and support on BSS systems and procedures, and purchasing of goods and services. He/She/They ensures adequate supplies of goods are always maintained, reconciles and processes accounts payable invoices, handles premises issues, and maintains accurate documentation and records.


The successful candidate will have the following:


  • High school diploma and completion of a post-secondary course in office or business administration or other relevant discipline.
  • Sound general administrative experience in a comparable environment, including experience using spreadsheet and word processing software and handling invoices and cash transactions.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the employer.


  • Sound knowledge and understanding of accounting processes
  • Sound knowledge of standard word processing, spreadsheet, database, and other relevant applications
  • Sound knowledge of best practices related to stock and inventory control
  • Some knowledge and understanding in the delivery of facilities management services
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with solid command of English grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • Strong customer service skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, including an intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment when dealing with a broad range of audiences
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take initiative, organize work and meet deadlines, while responding to numerous diverse and shifting challenges
  • Ability to exercise attention to detail
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to work accurately with numerical figures
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 18 kg and be physically mobile throughout shift length to complete tasks
  • Ability to arrange suitable transportation to various worksites
