Applications are currently being accepted for a full-time, time-limited (parental leave coverage – anticipated duration of 18-months) Assessment Coordinator in the Partner Assault Response (PAR) program.
Conduct group pre-screening sessions with individuals entering the program, provide program information, review contract and guidelines, fees, ensure signing of contract, fee agreement and consent
Make determinations about their readiness for the group sessions
Report on the day of pre-screening to probation officers, police and Victim Witness Assistance Program the results of the pre-screen and the date the client will start the group session
Implement suggested changes to the program, from the Advisory Committee
Maintain open communication with referral sources regarding client status
Follow-up with probation officers and the Courts
Participate in community initiatives, community outreach activities and case work services
Meet all service delivery standards
Participate in team meetings and provide input and ideas for improving services
Contribute to team assignments and projects
Share in handling workload for positive results
Maintain the strictest confidence for all matters related to work in the Agency in accordance with relevant Agency policy and practice
Participate in orientation and training of new employees or students
Monitor requirements and upgrade knowledge and skills for client service
Perform other relevant duties as assigned for team or Agency
Bachelors level degree in a relevant field
Current and ongoing membership in good standing in a recognized accrediting body
3-5 years of paid, full-time work experience in a variety of modalities
3-5 years of paid, full-time demonstrated work experience in domestic violence
Knowledge and skills in the area of addictions
Strong background in domestic violence/abuse/survivors of trauma
Proven ability to facilitate adult learning sessions
Experience working with clients who have abusive behaviours
As there may be a remote component to this job, the ability to work from home, consisting of a safe and private home office setting and the necessary technical equipment and high-speed Internet access for remote work
Familiarity with virtual work platforms
Strong communication skills and understanding of various learning styles
Ability to engage and work with the various diverse Peel communities
Excellent interpersonal skills
Superior oral and written command of the English language
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
Flexibility to work in various locations throughout the Peel Region as assigned
A valid Ontario driver’s license, appropriate insurance and regular access to a reliable vehicle
Ability to work day/evening/week-end shifts
Additional language(s) an asset
This position is a time-limited parental leave coverage, with an anticipated duration of eighteen (18) months.
