Position Overview:
Kindred Connections Society is seeking an innovative individual to share responsibility for clinical, administrative and program supervision as part of a team of dedicated and passionate professionals. Family Mental Health and Social Inclusion is home to sector leading innovation in the area of single session counselling with the Rapid Access Counselling (RAC) program. This role will provide support to the RAC team, Engagement and Resource Coordination Team, and the student and intern training program. These dynamic programs offer a variety clinical and administrative opportunities to the Supervisor. The Supervisor provides leadership to the team and cultivates a culture of compassion, courage, family, excellence, and humility. Imperative to the Supervisor position is the ability to monitor systems, processes and protocols that support best practice, outcome measurement and program evaluation. This position reports to the Manager, Family Mental Health and Social Inclusion.

 

Key Accountabilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

 

Clinical: Provide clinical supervision to a team that includes students, interns, and graduate level counsellors who deliver a wide range of barrier free and systemically oriented clinical service. Given the generalist nature of the work, the range of issues and the variety of approaches employed by counsellors are diverse and the opportunity to support the team is rich and rewarding.

 

Program: Supervise and train others to maintain high quality service delivery and continuity. The Supervisor assists with program outcome measurements and evaluation and ensures adherence to ethical and best practice standards.

 

Administrative: Responsible for staff recruitment, development of retention strategies, performance management and staff training and development.

 

Agency: Contribute to and provide leadership for enacting Kindred’s strategic direction and act as a culture keeper for the highly engaged workforce. The Supervisor participates in divisional and agency wide leadership teams and committees and represents Kindred in the community with a commitment to strong collaboration and effective partnerships.

 

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in Social Work/Psychology required and corresponding regulatory body registration required;
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in counselling required;
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative and customer service skills;
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with clinical supervision, program development, and administrative competencies;
  • Prior experience with quality assurance, data management, program outcome measurements and evaluation and co-creation of reports is an asset;
  • Expectation of flexibility with hours to meet the needs of direct reports; some evening work required, must be available to work one evening a week either Tuesday or Wednesday;
  • Ability to work independently on-site, as well as virtually;
  • Single session experience is an asset;
  • Strongly encouraged to have a current (completed in last 6 months) Police Information Check and Alberta Intervention Check;
  • Takes a posture of Cultural humility in working with diverse populations; experience with Indigenous and/orimmigrant families is an asset;
  • Core Brain Story Certification through Alberta Family Wellness Initiative is an asset;
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract and use of a vehicle with appropriate insurance.
