The Institute is seeking a Digital Marketing Officer to support its public relations and communications efforts.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Digital Marketing Officer will provide internal and external communications support with a primary focus on digital content creation, social media marketing, digital analytics, CRM software administration, and website management.

This prestigious, growth opportunity is available to professionals with a relevant Bachelor’s or College degree. A self-starter with drive, the ideal candidate thrives in a challenging fast-paced environment. The candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to work in a team setting. In all cases, applicants should bring 3+ years of digital marketing experience.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Create social media content and manage social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram).
  • Create graphics, infographics, thumbnail images, video and other social media content to disseminate and promote Institute research.
  • Create and execute social media marketing campaigns for priority areas of research.
  • Maintain currency of the Institute’s digital properties and online content as required.
  • Ensure that web-based applications are optimized for greatest audience reach.
  • Create and maintain log files of website hits by unique visitors, number of pages viewed, and other web metrics.
  • Coordinate and track the Institute’s email engagement with a focus on our subscription-based properties. This includes: engagement analysis, results reporting, compiling content, coding emails, and sending via Pardot.
  • Administration of the Institute’s Pardot/Salesforce account.
  • Setting up website hosting and promotional micro-sites, either in-house or third party.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing multiple social media channels while providing marketing insights from social media data analytics.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite software for graphic design, video and audio editing.
  • Proven experience in website administration and website content management.
  • Active interest in Canadian policy issues, with a high level of understanding of Canadian economics, history, politics, and governance.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with accuracy.
  • Strong working ability with WordPress, Drupal, Salesforce, Pardot, Google Analytics or other equivalent web analytic tools.
  • Knowledge of colour theory, layout, and design principles.
