The Lighthouse for Grieving Children & Families is seeking a part-time Group Leader to coordinate the provision of facilitated peer bereavement support groups to children and teens ages 3-19 at our facility in Oakville, ON.

Candidate Profile:

• BSW, B.Ed., BA, Child Life Specialist, Child & Youth Counsellor or related equivalent experience preferred
• Experience working with children and youth in a social service, educational or healthcare setting
• Understanding of child and adult bereavement
• Experience working with volunteers
• Group facilitation experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Familiarity with local community resources
• Community engagement and outreach experience an asset
• Valid driver’s license
• Flexible, well-rounded individual who enjoys working as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, compassion and resourcefulness.

Given the nature of our work, the Lighthouse has a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy which requires all employees to be fully vaccinated with 3 doses of a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine. You will not be asked to disclose your vaccination status during the interview process.
