Job description: Community Associate

Hours: 40 hours/week
Salary: Between $23-$26 per hour
Start date: As early as possible

About Us! Westhaven Elmhurst Community Recreation Center is looking for a responsible, self-motivating, enthusiastic and outgoing year-round Community Associate. The Associate is to act as a leader and assist staff in providing participants with a fun and safe experience.

Responsibilities:

●  Plan and implement a variety of activities including a day camp and after school programs

●  Management of staff - training and development

●  Grant writing

●  Maintain complete and organized registration records

●  Manage and organized online internal communication platforms

●  Communicate directly with the Board of Directors

Qualifications:

● Minimum 5 years experience operating a not-for-profit community centre (i.e. oversees program development; staff hiring and supervision, network with key community leaders and organizations; reviews program marketing and advertising efforts)

●  Exceptional time management, and problem-solving skills

●  Experience with maintaining a budget

●  Strong ability to network and develop partnerships in a professional manner

●  Experience with children ages 6 to 18 in a camp or educational setting

●  Experience with animation in sports and leisure

●  Experience with fundraising and grant-writing

●  Experience working in team setting and conflict resolution

●  Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English
