The Calgary Affordable Housing Foundation (CAHF) is a community-driven, community-led
permanent foundation. Our mandate is to facilitate philanthropic, public and private investment
partnerships to increase the stock of affordable homes for Calgarians in need. We are a dedicated
resource for non-profit affordable housing agencies, providing grants and running campaigns for
capital projects. Our innovative funding framework has been endorsed by the CMHC as a National
Housing Strategy Demonstration Initiative. Through our work with CMHC, we are implementing our
made-in-Calgary affordable housing approach as a scalable blueprint to help communities across
Canada address their own needs for safe and affordable housing. The CAHF works as an umbrella
organization for non-profit housing providers designed to facilitate relationships across funders and
build community capacity. The CAHF’s goal is to increase and accelerate capital investment to bring
more units to market faster.

Reporting to the Board of the Directors, the Calgary Affordable Housing Foundation’s (CAHF) newly
founded President and Chief Executive Officer is positioned to contribute significantly to our
community. This passionate and forward-thinking leader will identify and act on opportunities to
achieve the vision, goals and outcomes defined by the Board of Directors. At an operational level, the
CEO will be responsible for the day-to-day management of CAHF, including budgetary and
administrative planning.

As a community focused leader, the CEO will have demonstrated experience in building and
managing critical relationships among a diverse stakeholder group, including maintaining and
building partnerships with up to 60 agencies supporting affordable housing in Calgary. With
credibility in the community, the CEO will have a deep knowledge of the affordable housing sector
and a passion for being involved in a collaborative solution to the need for housing. Acting to ensure
the sustainability of the organization and its goals, the CEO will be innovative and creative in leading
the organization’s fundraising, grant proposal writing, marketing, communications, and meaningful
community outreach.

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in a related field, or equivalent, coupled with strong
organizational and leadership capabilities. Proven experience working with a Board of Directors,
and partnering with multi-stakeholder organizations is required, along with exceptional relationship
building, fundraising, and communication skills.

equity categories of women, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities, Indigenous persons,
individuals of diverse gender and sexual orientation and all groups protected by the Human Rights Code.
