Volunteer Ambassador (Full-Time)
Reporting to the Hub Supervisor, the Volunteer Ambassador will work closely with staff to ensure the consistency in compliance and application of all Volunteer policies and practices. The Volunteer Ambassadors will communicate and engage their volunteers in various Community Supports programs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Participates in volunteer on-boarding processes and service related training
Takes part in volunteer recognition practices
Tracks volunteer availability for program service delivery (Transportation and Meals on Wheels)
Completes Volunteer KM reimbursement and sends EFT forms to payables
Collects donation/EFT forms for Volunteers
Updates/enters volunteer information into CCD database
Monitors and supports volunteers in their role- coaching, and feedback
Schedules and assigning of duties to Office volunteers and Foot care volunteers
Liaises with Volunteer Coordinators to assist with volunteer recruitment efforts
Supports the Luncheon out service by coordinating program (client attendance, coordinating with funders, assigning volunteers to facilitate event)
Matches Friendly Visiting clients with volunteer, monitors service delivery, supports volunteers in their role
Qualifications required:
This position requires a post-secondary diploma/certificate in Volunteer Management, Gerontology, or related field
Experience in related field is an asset
Certification in Volunteer Management (CVA or CVRM) is an asset
Sensitivity to the needs of the frail elderly and persons with disabilities, including challenges in cognition
Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Adherence to COVID-19 safety practices including two doses of COVID-19 Vaccine (where medically able in accordance with our Immunization Policy)
Must work in a safe manner and promote the health and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and the community as outlined within CCD policies
Compensation: Starting at $35,000 annually; three (3) weeks’ vacation per year of work (pro-rated to hours worked); 11 paid (including stat) holidays; health, insurance and pension benefits when eligible.
* Pay will be commensurate based on education and experience
