SUPERVISOR, MORTGAGE ADMINISTRATION:

($67,712.13 - $78,694.16 Annually)

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, Lending Services, the Supervisor Mortgage Administration oversees the day-to-day operations of BC Housing’s Mortgage Administration Department, which delivers all mortgage administration functions for the CMHC (Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation) mortgages, social housing developments, BC Home Partnership Program and Housing Hub development projects. He/she/they will lead the development of processes for mortgage administration tasks, reviews complex mortgage packages to ensure documentation is accurate and complete, provides risk mitigation recommendations, prepares a variety of mortgage statements and reports, as well as liaises with stakeholders regarding the brokering and administration of mortgages.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, real estate, mortgage administration or other relevant field.
• Considerable experience in senior level positions within the field of mortgage administration
• Considerable supervisory experience in a unionized environment including coaching, motivating, and developing staff.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer.
• Criminal Record Check Required.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Considerable knowledge and understanding of mortgage financing for non-profit and for-profit developers, legal terminology, and security documents
• Sound understanding of accounting and financial analyses
• Ability to learn and understand the Commission’s mandate and operating requirements
• Ability to exercise good judgement and initiative
• Ability to work effectively with a number of parties, including external counsel, non-profit societies and external partners
• Ability to lead, train, coach and motivate staff in a team setting
• Sound mathematics skills and ability to work with figures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines with changing priorities
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
