We engage with equity-seeking individuals and groups using community development approaches and lenses of intersectionality to identify and address barriers. We aim to build capacity through increased and strengthened knowledge, skills, and social capital of individuals, families, and communities. These strategies all aim to enhance social determinants of health, reduce poverty and vulnerability factors, and respond to social issues that impact safety and well-being.

Position Summary
As an Employer Engagement Liaison / Job Developer, you will serve a dual role of being the connector and relationship builder for AHC's newcomer clients seeking work and promoting the ready-to-work clients to employers. The incumbent will be responsible for developing strategies to engage employers and promote understanding of the hiring of newcomers.

Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for the marketing of AHC's employment programs and services to employers and industries with the end goal of placing candidates to work.

Key Responsibilities
Employer Liaison

• Develop employment outreach and liaison strategies for AHC's clients.
• Establish strategic collaborative relationships with local and provincial employers, industries, and provincial organizations to increase employment opportunities.
• Identify prospective industry, community and government partners with staffing needs that align with the capabilities of AHC's clients.
• Advocate for employers to leverage the assets that newcomer candidates bring to the labour market.
• Based on effective networking and research, collect labour market information for Career Counsellors regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information.
• Develop and maintain collaborative, meaningful and ongoing relationships and referral resource networks with all community agencies.
• Regularly attend networking events and consistently represent AHC; engage in outreach to industry through events, speaking engagements, and other promotional activities.
• Analyze, evaluate, and interpret collected information to target the most suitable partner or collaborating employers for the clients.
• Support organizing events that connect clients with employers.
• Work with our partners, stakeholders, and other members of the Employment Team to remove barriers to employment for newcomer clients.
• Consistently reach the monthly and yearly target number of placements.

Other Duties

• Being the labour market expert for AHC, conduct ongoing research and observation of the local and regional labour market, analyze trends and job opportunities, and translate insights into recommendations and data points for the Employment Team to provide the right programs and services.
• Support the Program Manager with program resource development, including funds and resource materials for workforce participation readiness and other clients' support strategies.
• Assist with developing marketing materials and answering enquiries related to the programs/services.
• Identify and refer ready-willing and able clients to the entrepreneurship program.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:
Qualifications and experience

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, public relations, human resources, sociology, or business administration.
• A minimum of 3 years' related experience with demonstrated success in developing strategic collaboration, job placement, and partnership opportunities.
• Experience building and expanding third-party stakeholder networks and partnerships, especially with industries.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to identify potential partners and develop/strengthen existing relationships.
• Must have an inclusive and equity approach to engaging with diverse communities.
• Multilingual ability to communicate effectively with clients, both verbally and in writing, is preferred.
• Self-directed with the ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work. Adaptable and flexible approach to work.
• Demonstrated ability to advocate and act with professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy, and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Working knowledge/ability to use technology applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Knowledge of a CRM system is an asset.

Working Conditions
Office Environment - In-person (occasional remote/virtual work).
37.5 hours per work for full-time positions - some evening and weekend work may be required.
A class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract and a reliable vehicle is required, as a fair amount of travel is required to various locations, mostly in the greater Edmonton region.
