BGC Canada is seeking a Partnership Support Specialist, to help coordinate logistics related to key partnerships, donors, national events, initiatives, and maintaining communications through digital platforms. As part of the Partnerships and Philanthropy team, this full-time position will play a vital support role. BGC Canada’s national team provides support to our member Clubs and leads in issues management, policy advocacy, and other critical work on behalf of Clubs. We advance the agenda for the children, youth, and families served by member Clubs through critical work in the areas of public policy, research, program development, and Club support. The national team is also responsible for building the BGC brand, fundraising, and managing public relations and communications for our cause.

 

About You

Our highly nimble Partnerships and Philanthropy team operates in a fast-paced, exciting and collaborative environment. You will play a vital administrative support role on the team.

You are excellent at multi-tasking, organizing multiple projects, and deadlines, and collaborating with others. You are familiar with managing and maintaining digital platforms such as Salesforce, SharePoint, and other fundraising/event registration platforms. You are an incredibly detail-oriented individual who enjoys organizing information, communicating information, and ensuring tasks are getting completed. You have a friendly demeanour, with a positive attitude, take initiative and enjoy being helpful.

 

Ideally, you have some fundraising experience and are knowledgeable about federated models and how to successfully work with member agencies, however, we welcome applications from those who may not have that experience but who are willing and eager to learn.

 

About the Role

This role will administratively support BGC Canada’s Partnerships and Philanthropy team. You will help coordinate logistics related to key partnerships, donors, national events, and initiatives and maintain communications through digital platforms. You will assist in improving and maintaining internal processes to enhance team efficiency and performance. This is an exciting opportunity to learn and gain experience working with some of Canada’s premier companies/brands making an impact in the non-profit sector. This role will assist in all areas of fundraising including corporate, foundation, and individual giving as well as events.

 

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide ongoing administrative support and development of support materials for the Partnerships and Philanthropy team
  • Provide logistical support for national initiatives, such as Youth of the Year, Pink Shirt Day, Back-2-School campaign, and Holiday and Annual Giving Campaigns
  • Support event coordination for national events such as the Partner Summit, BGC Club Day, golf tournaments, and any event-related activity connected to our national partnerships
  • Coordinate with the National Programs team to collect BGC Club information and support the Partnerships and Philanthropy team in the finalization of partner reports
  • Provide ongoing communications and creative support to the Partnerships and Philanthropy team
  • Perform data entry support and reporting in CRM database-Salesforce and fundraising platforms
  • Support communication to BGC Clubs by maintaining internal member intranet site relating to partnership information
  • Support communication for cross-team collaboration through our internal SharePoint site relating to BGC Canada
  • Maintain relationships with colleagues across BGC Canada’s National office to stay informed of best practices, and to facilitate donor relations
  • Other duties as assigned

Our Ideal Candidate

  • A minimum of two (2) years work experience in an administrative support role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be a collaborative and ever-positive team player, establishing and maintaining positive working relationships
  • Motivated to learn and grow within this position and take on additional tasks as appropriate
  • Strong attention to detail (specifically timelines and data management)
  • Organized with strong time management skills
  • Knowledgeable of software platforms including Microsoft 365 (specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook), Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and Canva
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technical skills and related concepts
  • Ability to work with flexibility, to respond to rapidly shifting priorities
  • Handle multiple tasks, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines
  • Some working knowledge of funder databases, including Salesforce is an asset
  • Some knowledge about fundraising fundamentals and about a federated model and/or a BGC Club environment is an asset

Working Environment

  • Some travel may be required, as well as occasional work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Reliable form of transportation
  • The role is primarily desk-based and requires an ability to work on a computer and over the phone for longer periods of time and concentrating which will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy

 

Hybrid Working Environment

It will be expected that the successful candidate works in a hybrid model out of the national office in Toronto, Ontario and resides within the GTA. When working from home, the incumbent must have a space where they can work comfortably and focus on their tasks. BGC Canada will provide the necessary technology required to get the job done.

This is a full-time, permanent role. The starting salary range is $55,000 to $65,000, plus excellent benefits. Starting salaries are based on relevant experience.
