Reporting to the Donor Database Manager, this position is responsible for supporting database integrity in the areas of data entry, gift processing, and donor services. The incumbent will work to maintain the timely and accurate processing of donations and gifts into the CRM system, flagging any concerns they encounter. They will serve as a point of contact for Second Harvest’s donors to complete payments of gifts and communicate queries to the appropriate team member.

You Will

  • Be responsible for the timely and accurate maintenance of all constituent records in CRM database (Raiser’s Edge); promptly add new constituent records and update existing information (including contact information, recognition and mailing preferences, donor attributes, relationships, volunteer service, event participation, and other relevant data) as needed.
  • Ensure the correct tracking and coding of gifts received through various donation channels, including mail and online platforms.
  • Work closely with the Donor Database Specialist to prepare gift reports for data entry.
  • Process data for gifts received into Raiser’s Edge.
  • Be responsible for the organization of all constituent and gift-related documents.
  • Collaborate with the Donor Database Specialist to provide assistance to contract staff and/or volunteers with gift processing, data entry, and record maintenance during peak times or as needed.
  • Support the circulation of tax receipts and acknowledgement letters for stewardship actions.
  • Work closely with other departments to support and fulfill the data entry process for gifts-in-kind.
  • Assist with internal event ticketing reports and enter attendee information into Raiser’s Edge.
  • Perform data clean up as assigned.
  • Maintain strict donor and data confidentiality at all times; uphold the integrity of Second Harvest’s donor care by adhering to the AFP Code of Ethics and Donor Bill of Rights.
  • Act as a point of contact for donor inquiries; escalate to appropriate persons and/or departments when necessary.
  • Work with the Donor Data team members to provide input on the design and implementation of processes for the efficient, effective, and consistent management of data information across the department.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the overall goals of the organization.

You Are

  • Detail-Oriented: you are proud of your work and know that cutting corners isn’t an option; you are thorough and accurate at all times.
  • Technical: you have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge/RENXT, or other relational database is considered a strong asset.
  • Communicative: you have strong communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Organized: you have excellent project and time management skills; you have the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
  • Donor-Focused: you put the donor at the heart of your work; you have exemplary donor service and relationship management skills, with a keen understanding of and respect for the donor cycle, journey, and experience.
  • Knowledgeable of CRA guidelines. Experience with the charitable tax receipting process is considered an asset.
  • An enthusiastic team player with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times and maintain a professional attitude.
