HIV Edmonton is an inclusive and dynamic community-based organization dedicated to working with diverse communities in amiskwaciswâskahikan and across Treaty 6 territory. We aim to build awareness of sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBI), prevent new transmissions, help people living with HIV and other STBBI to live longer, healthier lives, and support community members without judgement, stigma, or discrimination.

The Administration & Evaluation Assistant position is a newly created, one (1) year contract position. The incumbent in this role reports to the Director, Operations and Administration and supports the organization’s administration and operational needs for the day to day running of a non-profit organization. The incumbent is responsible for data entry and will be trained to work with HIV Edmonton’s CANFIT database; and support evaluation-related tasks that tell HIV Edmonton’s story.

This position may appeal to a candidate in the HIV Edmonton community or someone identifying from a disproportionally affected community. Incumbent to start March 2023.  Contract renewal is dependent upon funding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides a range of daily administrative support services, which includes: clerical data entry for employee benefits, banking, file maintenance, and inquiries through email point of contact
  • Supports daily operations, which involves welcoming guests, maintaining supplies, inventory, building operations, key access, etc.
  • Data entry into CANFIT database, report generation and supports evaluation activities

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) years office experience in an administrative support staff role within a non-profit organization.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to engage people with compassion and emotional intelligence
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and quality
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality working with sensitive/confidential information
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work in a highly demanding role within an integrated team environment with flexibility and adaptability
  • Competency in computer software/databases  

Salary:  $45,500 to $47,320 per annum with health benefits package plus RRSP contribution.
