The Program
WJS Canada provides social services to children, youth, adults and families facing difficulties through a personalized, trauma-informed approach to care, in an environment of cultural respect and support.
The WJS Canada Human Resources team supports programs in three provinces across Canada (BC, AB, ON).

The Position
The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process for various positions across Canada (BC, AB and ONT). This role is about finding and engaging with top candidates and guiding them through the onboarding process. In addition to hands-on full-cycle recruitment, the Recruitment Specialist will also work on recruitment and onboarding process improvements, various recruitment-related projects, as well as employer branding and candidate experience.

One (1) permanent, full-time position:
• 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 0830-1630
• Position will be a hybrid model, working a combination of time from both the Central Administration office in Maple Ridge BC, and your home-based office (located within commuting proximity to the WJS office).

In Your Role You Will
...be responsible for the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process.
• Job posting and advertising
• Promote WJS to prospective employees, source new candidates and proactively build talent pipeline
• Review resumes and pre-screen suitable applicants
• Interview candidates to assess their skills, qualifications and experience
• Support panel interview bookings (if required)
• Develop interview questions
• Conduct reference checks
• Advise and assist candidates in obtaining mandatory security clearances
• Create offer letters
• Initiate and guide new hires in completing pre-start documentation and onboarding requirements
• Assist in developing procedures for standardized employee orientation program
• Continuously evaluate recruitment strategies and determine areas of improvement
• Maintain and update recruitment toolkit
• Maintain quality and integrity of ATS
• Assist with recruitment metrics and reports production
• Assist with placement of practicum students at programs and work with programs to collect security clearances and documents for the practicum students
• Other related duties as assigned to support HR objectives and purpose of the organization

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess
• 1+ year experience in a high volume, fast-paced recruitment environment
• Diploma/Degree in Human Resources
• Other combinations of experience and education will be considered
• Solid knowledge of Human Resources best practices and recruitment procedures
• Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS)
• A passion for supporting new hires through creating a positive new hire experience
• Collective agreements/unionized environment experience is preferred
• Other combinations of experience and education will be considered
Required Competencies:
• Skill in the use of computers and related applications, Office 365, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint, with the ability to use them to create complicated documents and reports; willingness to learn and adapt to new software.
• Accountability and quality as it pertains to adherence to policy and/or union/collective agreements.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to re-prioritize and adjust to interruptions and changing requirements.
• Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures using a problem-solving approach.
• Ability to foster team approaches, passion for problem solving.
• Organizing and coordinating skills.
