Job Summary:

The Millwright is responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of plant equipment and machinery. This position works closely the management team facilitating efficient, continued operation of the plant and its equipment. The Millwright responds to ever changing conditions and priorities and must complete duties in an efficient and timely manner.

 

Your Role:

Archway’s Millwright with the Recycling Program contributes by:

  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance, as necessary to ensure plant reliability.
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance plan(s) and keeping detailed records of work performed on each machine.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing rolling stock equipment such as skid steers, forklifts, and front-end loader as well as balers and conveyor systems.
  • Keeping records and documentation as dictated by WorkSafe BC and recommended by the manufacturer; ability to read technical documents.

Getting an Interview – you will be considered if you have:

  • Minimum 3 years experience maintaining manufacturing equipment/conveyor systems.
  • Familiarity with pumps, motors, PLCs and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to weld (MIG and stick).
  • A valid BC Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Forklift certification and skid steer training an asset

The Job Requires you to:

  • Obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
  • Have a valid BC Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract.
  • Obtain a satisfactory fitness assessment.
  • Have the ability to lift 60 lbs.
  • Be available to work weekends and afternoons.
  • Be available to respond to emergency breakdowns that may happen after scheduled working hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Wear special equipment (steel toed boots, high visibility vest)
  • Work in a dusty environment.
