Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Technology & Privacy, the Senior Systems and Network Administrator is a curious and highly motivated individual responsible for having a strong proficiency for understanding complex problems and translating their technical knowledge into practical, implementable solutions that will drive high-impact business value, ensuring that the technology, service, configuration, operations, and support are carried out in accordance with business priorities, project plans and IT standards

Location: 1300-522 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. Flexible work agreement policy in place allowing employees to work on a hybrid schedule, working remote and with the expectation to be in-office as needed.

This role includes, but not limited to: 

  • Be an integral part of the Technology team focused on implementing and integrating hybrid systems
  • Responsible for research, design, planning, implementation, documentation, support and maintenance of existing and emerging cloud-based services.
  • Maintain and improve the organization’s data backup technology, security and reliability.
  • Respond to system alerts and take corrective action or escalate as required (including vendors and suppliers).
  • Ensure stability, security and performance of the technological environment to keep in line with our uptime and service level agreements. Create monthly reports, provide user support and troubleshoot issues related to all systems.
  • Ensure knowledge-transfer by documenting system configurations and processes and train other system administrators and end-users.
  • Work with other members of the Technology & Data team to deliver and support solutions, systems and processes, the underlying databases, workflows, and server resources.
  • Develop business partner relationships and engage with business units to identify business priorities that have IT implications or require IT support.
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Technology & Privacy with resource planning (e.g., annual business plan, hardware and software forecasting).
  • Evaluate business processes and recommend viable options that improves business performance, efficiency and minimizes risks that may impact daily operations and the organization overall. 

The ideal candidate possesses:  

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure support of Microsoft Azure and Active Directory in a hybrid environment, including planning, architecting, configuring and deploying.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft Office 365, including configuration, deployment, and user training.
  • Working knowledge of security best practices, including Multi-Factor Authentication, Data Privacy and Threat Management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, process, workflow design and documentation skills.
  • Good understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Communicating effectively with users and vendors.
  • Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision. 

Nice to have skills:

  •  Experience with Microsoft Visio or similar diagramming/workflow tools
  • Knowledge of cloud-based systems such as Freshservice, Dayforce, XMedius, KnowBe4, ZScaler, Trend Micro Cloud App Security, Meraki, PaloAlto, Fortinet
  • Experience with Windows Power Shell
  • Familiarity with CRM, Financial systems, CMS
  • Experience with SharePoint development
  • Familiarity with Office 365 Apps: Power Apps, Forms, Power Automate
  • Knowledge and experience in the non-profit sector
