YW provides preventive and restorative services to women and their families to help them thrive. YW moved to their Inglewood location, a two-acre site at 1715 17 Ave SE after 30 years in downtown Calgary. The YW Hub Facility not only provides opportunities for enhanced and adaptable programs and services but includes new community-based spaces designed to create sustainable revenue for the organization. YW is also proud to announce that nearby on 16th Ave SE is their new Affordable Housing units opening for occupancy in early March and the rebuilding of their Sheriff King Home domestic violence shelter that is planned for opening in the fall of 2023.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, YW’s newly founded Creative Director role is positioned to contribute significantly to the overarching vision and mission of the organization. This passionate and creative individual will support YW’s strategic direction by continuously defining and evolving the organization’s full design process and assets by establishing and leading the creative vision and brand tone of the organization.
The Creative Director will lead team members in brand campaign creation, conceptualization, and asset development across all platforms. They will be responsible for creative program delivery ensuring high quality execution of brand and marketing communications initiatives have a focus on campaign delivery, building production schedules and ensuring tight deliveries to all departments across YW.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years experience leading and developing a creative team or department, with the ability to be a hands-on role in the department. Leading by design example. and working in-house for creative/design management coupled with a deep understanding of brand, visual design, writing, and user experience to design inspiring and intuitive experiences. Proven experience leading and inspiring in-house creative professionals is required, along with expertise in all forms of marketing mediums, such as website design, digital, social media, and print. To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to translate creative strategy into business performance.
