The Opportunity
To meet the demands of Vancouver’s homelessness and poverty crisis that have been amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic, RainCity is poised with a Strategic Plan to expand the scope and reach of its services. It is within this context that RainCity invites applications for the role of Director, Facilities – a position that will play an integral role in the management and maintenance of RainCity’s supported housing stock.
Reporting to the Co-Executive Director, the successful candidate will offer the strategic leadership needed to implement RainCity’s long-term strategic plan in the areas of property management, operations, and food services. Working alongside the Senior Leadership Team, the incumbent manages a range of activities and portfolios, including ensuring strategic, effective, consistent and legal operational practices and policies; offering strategic and operational leadership for the Facilities and Food Services Departments; designing, developing, and delivering on an effective funding strategy for long-term capital requirements and annual operations of Facilities and Food Services; managing real estate activities such as property value maintenance, property purchases, development and/or redevelopment and renovation, and, potentially, disposition; and communicating and collaborating with a wide variety of people including other members of the Senior Leadership Team, program management, external agency representatives, funders, the Board of Directors, staff and union representatives, and tenants. The successful candidate is a self-starter capable of mobilizing resources and navigating networks to bring to life visionary ideas.

The salary for the role of Director, Facilities will be around $100,000, depending on skills and experience, plus 4-weeks’ vacation, a comprehensive dental and extended health plan with premiums 100% paid by the employer, and a lifetime monthly pension. Hybrid work arrangements will be available for this position.
